Springtime with Weston

Well...we got a little behind with our blog but for good reason, we've been busy getting to know Weston! He is absolutely the most precious gift.

At almost 2 months old, it seems we have finally gotten a handle on the nasty reflux he's been fighting since birth. He has been put on medicine and is sleeping in an amazingly comfortable-looking baby hammock, both of which have worked really well! He is growing like crazy and we often hear that he looks much older than 8 weeks. After struggling through days and weeks of constant crying because he was so uncomfortable, it is wonderful to see him sleeping peacefully, smiling frequently, and cooing at anyone who will give attention (including Oprah, he just doesn't know she isn't talking to him).

Weston LOVES to be outside. He is definitely a beach baby and we'll have to be careful because he loves the sun. As soon as we walk outside he closes his eyes, throws his head back, and smiles...just taking in the sunshine! We've been to the beach to walk several times in the past month and he (with the help of Daddy) put his feet in the ocean for the first time. It's so much fun to experience all of these things for the very first time with him. Here are some pictures from our recent adventures...

Weston is here!

Weston was born on Thursday, March 12th. He weighed 8lbs. 9.6 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. His weight came as a surprise to us as well as to the doctors delivering him! We went to his first doctors appointment today and everything looks great, although he has lost a little over 1 lb. since his birth, so we are keeping an eye on it to make sure he starts gaining again.

Kait did well during the surgery and is slowly recovering. So far it seems that her Chiari was not made worse by the spinal block or the stress of surgery which was a huge answer to prayer.

We appreciate all of the encouragement and support from our friends and family and look forward to introducing you all to Weston soon!

Weston's Room

We are officially declaring Weston's room FINISHED! (Although, I am sure there is still more we can do...ha!) It turned out better than we imagined and is such a peaceful, calming room. I can not wait to bring him home and show him around. :) Here are a few pictures but to truly enjoy it, you must come visit!

Jacksonville Baby Shower

I had a wonderful time at my Jacksonville shower a little over a week ago. Thanks to my Mom, Kim, and Stacy for doing a wonderful job of putting it all together! The decorations were perfect, cupcakes delicious, and favors adorable! I left feeling very loved and ready to meet the little guy who all the fuss has been about!

Maternity Pictures

Nathan and I recently had some pictures taken by a local photographer. Here are a few of the proofs. I was 33 weeks when they were taken.
